Well the time has come! I left Chicago yesterday afternoon following a last minute morning packing blitz (space bags are a life saver) and headed for our nation's capital. I had my last Big Mac in the airport and although I actually can't remember the last time i had one the idea i wouldn't be able to eat one if i wanted to made it sound irresistible. I'm taking a day and a half breather in DC. Tomorrow i check in at the hotel for staging and i begin the adventure! I'm nervous but more about whether I'll be able to do what i need to to be an effective volunteer and having to speak Spanish all the time than anything else. I'm excited to really start doing something though. That sounds kind of odd as I did spend this past year working but i didn't feel like i was doing much. Overall a mixed bag of emotions! Well I'm off to meet Elaine for lunch and a quick capital tour! The next update will be from Peru!

Peace Out,
Kim
